Mr. John Morris Douglas, age 81, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father, on September 5, 2023. He was born on December 8, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Emmett and Bernadine (Peter) Douglas. Mr. Douglas worked as a tool and die maker for General Electric for many years until his retirement. Being a United States veteran, he served in the Navy for 8 years as a Reactor Operator on submarines. Mr. Douglas was also a member of the DAV. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Emmett Douglas, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia Douglas; daughter, Lisa Mattingly (Bob); son, Billy Douglas (Katelyn “Ying”); grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Jennifer, Iris; sisters, Barbara, Mary Ann; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Hwy 44 E at 123 Winning Colors Dr) with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children and the American Diabetes Association.
