Subject: Charleston Reunion Details

Dear All,
Following discussions with the Hilton on minimum billings for the
event (thanks to Ken Watts and Lisa for help in that department) I
have firmed up the following arrangements (contract is signed) : We
can start Saturday morning July the 31st at the Clarion (7401
Northwoods Boulevard, Charleston (near airport), we have a meeting
room from 08:00 AM to 1:30 PM (we'll decide on a start time later).
We can have our gathering and do lunch (budgeting $20 per person for
lunch and meeting room).
In the afternoon we can head to Partiots Point and see the SSBN
memorial (Bill Johnson showed me a picture) it looks just like the
Madison stuck in the mud by the weapons station).
We'll do drinks on the deck of the Hilton for happy hour.
I haven't looked at dinner plans yet, I am not sure if some would
rather dine with their significant others, dine in small groups or
keep at it in a group... We'll see.
No need for more polling at this time. I'll be on the road for a
couple of weeks and will produce an information sheet so you can
mail it out to shipmates you know who might not be on this site.
No need for commitments, we'll firm up attendence numbers in the
weeks prior.
If you want to stay at the Clarion, you can book directly with them,
mention you are part of the James Madison Reunion. The rate is $79
per night, minimum stay friday and saturday, hot breakfast buffet
included. We have 20 rooms available, sign up first come first
served basis, any rooms not booked at that rate will be lost after
May 30th.
Sorry about the flip-flops on locations, I hope I didn't
inconvenience too many of you. I didn't realize how popular a July
Saturday night could be in Charleston, and think we can get this
reunion rolling without excessive expense. Thanks for the offers for
help from the locals...
Looking forward to meeting you,
Warm regards,
Grady

Subject: Hotel special

I found another hotel with a internet special. Check out the
Radisson hotel on Rivers Ave by the AFB. It was $75 a night. The
web site is www.radisson.com. So if the hotel that we have set up
for the reunion fills up try this one.
