Note from Grady Harrison RE: 2005 Reunion

Dear All,
Good to be home again after a fun reunion. many thanks to all
attendees and to new volunteers. It was great having a look at
today's submarine force with the Trident Training Facility visit and
touring the USS Wyoming.
Some of the key points of the meetings :
While we have incorporated as a not for profit association and are
pursuing our Tax exempt status from the IRS, we will explore the
possibility of being an internet-based affiliate of the USSVI.
Members of our association may choose not to become members of the
USSVI and we will continue to hold our reunions where we decide.
A committee is finalizing the plans for a dedicated website. The
Yahoo group site has shown some limitations and we may organize
discussions by topics, link the ship's store and collect dues via a
paypal type payment system.
The next reunion will be in New London in 2007 (low season spring or
fall with date yet to be determined)
We will be collecting dues : annual dues are set at $20 for the
first year, $10 per year after that.
Bylaws have been adopted and I am joining a copy to the files on
this Yahoo site.
Unfortunatley lower turnout (60 members) and especially people who
have signed up for events and failed to show or cancel put us in the
hole ($669.01) after the reunion.
After having received the listing from Charline, I will mail out
letters requesting donations and membership forms for 2006. This
should get us back in the black and give us the means to properly
plan the next reunion.
It was great meeting shipmates again, I look forward to continuously
improving our association and to a great year ahead.
