This is a preliminary selection.
  • In this first round, you are asked to select two (2) choices. This is your first and second choice. There is no way to distinguish between your first and second choice.
  • This poll will remain open until and through September 30, 2011.
  • The top three (3) choices from this selection will go into a second round. In the second round, everyone will be able to vote for only one (1) choice. We plan to have some information on options in the second round with regard to costs, etc.
  • They are listed in alphabetical order here.
  • If you'd like to "campaign" on behalf of one of these locations, please reply here to make that information known to others who will be voting.
  • If you have no preference, please indicate that. It's good to know that a broad number had the chance to voice a preference, even if they had none.
  • For reference, past locations were: 2004 - Charleston SC, 2005 - Jacksonville FL/Kings Bay Ga, 2007 - New London CT, 2009 - Bremerton WA, 2011 - Charleston SC
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are a former Madison sailor and/or a member of Reunion Association and cannot login and have your vote counted, send an email to website@ussjamesmadison627.com NOW to make it so you can. Do not wait until the voting closes and then say "oh there was a problem". I am not set up to take votes by email.

If you voted before 6:30 pm (EDT) on 20 July, your vote was not recorded due to a technical glitch. You need to revote. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Be aware you can change your vote as many as you wish until the poll closes.

Remember that it is very hard to set up a reunion in a place where people from the Madison may not be willing to help out. So all of you that are voting for San Diego may want to think about this, since Charline and I have done the last three with some local help.

I've been told that we likely won't have any detailed information prior to the second round of voting, contrary to what I said in the first message.
