I've gotten a couple of emails from those who are unable to attend the 2009 Reunion via email. I figured here was as good a place as any to share them.

Hi guy's,
Was planning on joining you this year but will have to put off until next year. I underwent openheart sergury recently and the doc says to kick back for this year. So I guess it will be next time for me. Hopefully the next one will be on the east coast and I can drive there. So hi to all and enjoy. See you next time.

From MMC(SS)(A-ganger)(Ret.) James Jerry Moreland. James Madison was my last boat out of five. All boomers all gold crews. I made 23 patrols total. I retired October 30 1991 off the Madison. I thought I did a fair job as A-gang LPO. When I retired from there all I got was a hand shake from a junior sailor that gave me my orders. If I made all the chiefs mad at me I apologize. I know I must have done something wrong to be treated that way. I have never mentioned this before. I has upset me all these years. I pray that you all have had and will have God blessed and prosperous lives.

Financially, this old Retired Capt(MC) will not be able to make it to the
Reunion this year.
I hate it too, because this would be my first. If any Blue Crew members from
1/67-8/68 are
there, tell them hello and fair winds from "Doc" Woody Sanford. Have a
Blast! I did see Jeff Searcy, my friend and weapons officer, on the members
list. I had to operate on his butt
(literally) one time right in sick bay. If he attends, ask how his ol' A..
is doing. Woody
