Hurricane Ike Recovery Help Wanted!

Usually when hurricanes threaten, the US Navy puts to sea to ride it out. With our retired ships, that's just not possible.

Hurricane Ike took a heavy toll on the coast of Texas, including Seawolf Park in Galveston, home of the USS Cavalla (SS-244) and USS Stewart (DE 238).

Your help is needed to make repairs and restore these pieces of our Naval Heritage. Click on the attachment below to see how you can help.

Thanks for posting the information about the Cavalla and the help she needs. I am also proud to report that under the direction of our President, The board of the Madison assn has agreed to send a donation of $100.00 from the Madison association. I would like to challenge our members to consider matching this amount. The Cavalla Historical Foundation is a 501 c 3 organization and donations are tax deductible.
