EMOTIONS

Emotions

Love you,
How I love you!
Oh, for the words and talent
To tell you exactly how I feel.

Need you,
How I need you!
Life is dear,
But holds not a candle of flame to you.

Love me,
That is why I live!
Your heart is my heart,
And your breath is mine;
If yours should cease, so will mine.

This is a poem I wrote a year after Jenny and I married.
We were happy.
Life was good.
It still is.
