Here's one you guys might be able to relate to...
A PART OF ME
A sailor and a guitar, drifting out to sea.
A love song for a lady, and a place he longs to be.
A part of him in every word, he chose so carefully.
But a poet doesn't always say, exactly what he means.
Every night he plays for her, but the songs all sound the same.
And just like some long forgotten dream, he carries on this way.
A part of her in every line, he chose so carefully.
But a poet doesn't always say, exactly what he means.
He sees her face he hears her voice, she calls so desperately.
He tries so hard to keep the image there, but he knows it's just a dream.
A part of them in every song, he writes so carefully.
But a poet doesn't always say, exactly what he means.
Sweet lady you are in his mind to stay, you're the reason and the rhyme.
But he sits and stares and thinks his life away, for a word he'll never find.
A part of you in every word, he bleeds in every line.
He knows there's just to much he has to say. To say what's on his mind...

Re: A Part of Me
Great poem. Seems to be a great song as well, I would like to hear you play and sing it.
I hope you are still writing!
