ESCAPE

Post by rmbowen »

Escape

I’m tired.
Let me put these worries away.
I’ll face them another day.
It’s time I retired.
Loneliness,
It drips from the overhead
And follows me to bed.
It clutters my mind
And swallows thoughts of happiness.
Pressure
Is all around me,
Pressing in from the cold, dark sea.
Danger stands beside me
And every movement I make is measured.
Problems,
They’re getting me down.
I wish I could turn around
And walk away from them.
A place,
I need a place to think.
Settle down with a good cool drink
And forget this madding race.
