Very sad news. "Marty" was my sonar supervisor through Poseidon conversion, combined-crew and 6 patrols out of Holy Loch. He always reminded me of my "older brother". The 4 years I was on the Madison, Marty was always there. I am so glad I got to see him again at the 2004 reunion in Charleston and share a drink or two. We confided many secrets while standing sonar watches. I carried a lot of cups of coffee to the sonar shack for me and Marty. A lot of good times and unforgetable memories. He was a good guy, friend and great shipmate. He will be missed. Rest now sailor. JT

I received word from Larry's brother Don that Larry interment ceremony will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery on May 11. They are meeting in Spearfish at 10:00 and will proceed to the Cemetery with a motorcycle escort for the interment. There is a lunch scheduled at Killian's afterword. I will keep the site posted if anything changes TERRY "DINGUS" DUHN STS2SS SSBN 627 Gold

Thanks for the information Terry. Sounds like a fitting tribute. I know it has to be especially sad for you. I think you spent a lot of time with Marty during the off-crews. I've been thinking a lot about Marty lately, and could probably write a book about time on watch in the sonar shack. Marty will surely be missed by everyone who knew him. JT
