He then went to work at the US Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston as the Life Skills Instructor until his final retirement in 2007. Jack was also a member of Charleston Base Submarine Veterans. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, helping raise his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of all of them. I remember Jack well as an RM1 on the Gold crew. He was well liked, a great shipmate and fellow submariner. My fondest memory of Jack, is him in his blue "poopy suit" with scruffy attempt of a beard standing in the doorway of the radio shack shooting the breeze with my sonar supervisor, usually Larry Martin or Jim Eldridge standing in the doorway of the sonar shack. Rest your oars now Submariner. JT
