Charles A. Dorminy, 86, for­merly of Cordele/​War­wick, GA passed away in peace at his home with his fam­ily in Dothan on Mon­day, July 13, 2015. He has resided there with his son and daugh­ter-in-law and grand­chil­dren for the past four years. Charles was a Vet­eran of the U.S. Navy where he served for 22 years. All 5 of his sons served in the Navy as well.

Memo­r­ial ser­vices will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sat­ur­day, July 18, 2015 at the Sun­set Fu­neral Home Chapel with Bill Hol­land of­fi­ci­at­ing. The fam­ily will re­ceive friends and rel­a­tives from 3-4:00 p.m. prior to the ser­vice at the fu­neral home. A mil­i­tary trib­ute will fol­low.

Mr. Dorminy was born on Jan­u­ary 30, 1929 in Cordele, Geor­gia. He is sur­vived by his chil­dren William “Bill” Al­ton Dorminy, Mary Ann Heard, Su­san Denise Hock­a­day, and Charles “Buddy” An­thony Dorminy; two step-sons Jess Babich and Pete Babich; sev­eral grand­chil­dren and great-grand­chil­dren; brother and sis­ter, Ronald J. Dorminy and Mit­tie Thomas. He is pre­ceded in death by his wife, Lor­raine V. Scott Dorminy; a son, John Scott Dorminy; broth­ers, Robert L. Dorminy, Ho­race Dorminy, and A.J. Dorminy; sis­ter, Doris Dowdy; and his par­ents Alvin Lorenzo Dorminy and Irene Beat­rice Jones Dorminy. ... -a-dorminy
