Obituary

Patrick P. Arena, 73, passed away in his sleep November 6, 2013 at 11:30pm in Jacksonville, FL. Patrick served in United States Navy for 20 years. He retired as a Chief Torpedoman’s Mate. He spent 13 years selling insurance for John Hancock. After retiring from John Hancock Patrick worked as a Bailiff for the Duval County Sheriff’s Office which he had fond memories of.

Patrick is survived his wife of 49 years Judith Arena; sons, Carl Flemming (Brenda), Barney Flemming (Darby), Patrick Arena, Jr. (Christa); grandchildren, Casey, Corey, Christopher; sister, Frances Hansen; nieces and nephews, Scott, Michelle, Betsey, Dina, Angela, Dawn, and Amber. Patrick is preceded in death by his son Salvatore; and brothers Frank and Duane Jr.

A Visitation will be held Monday, November 11 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin from 6-8pm. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, November 12 at 12:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Father Dan Cody officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd.

Memorial Contributions can be made in Patrick’s name to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.
