Mr. Alan P. Danaher, 60 of Brunswick, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011. He was the husband of the late Juliann Danaher who passed away in January 2007.

Born March 16, 1950 in New York he was the son of the late John and Helen Danaher.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brunswick.

Alan was a retired Commander for the United States Navy. He was the Superintendent of Public Works for the City of Brunswick. He previously worked as director of the Learning Tree day Care in Brunswick.

He loved skiing and was in the 1960 time trial for the Olympics.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.

He is survived by his two children, Adam Danaher of Reading, PA and Alicia Danaher of Brunswick, MD, a granddaughter, Anna Christine Rapchinski, a brother, Paul Danaher and a sister, Janice Danaher Garske. He will also be remembered by all of his nieces, nephews, other family members and all of his special friends

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick, MD on Sunday, January 30th from 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 31st at 2:00PMat St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 113 1st Ave., Brunswick with Father George A. Limmer and Rev. Mr. Lawrence P. Teixeira officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post 10421, 317 Brunswick Street, Brunswick, MD 21716.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
