CHISHOLM, Robert A. Robert (Bob) Alexander Chisholm, 68, beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away on January 20, 2011. Born in Long Beach, California, he was the son of the late Robert M. Chisholm, step-son of Roberta (Bobbie) Chisholm and step-brother of Karen Gilbert and Linda Mohler, all of Nevada. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Jane Chisholm and daughter-in-law Elena Zykova, and their young sons, Maksim, Nikolai and Aleksei, of Berkeley, California; his former wife of 33 years, Janet Chisholm, of Minnesota; and longtime friend, Percalie Williamson, of Manchester, Connecticut. Bob graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1960 where he was a top student, class officer, state debate champion, and winner of an NROTC scholarship. He served in the U.S. Navy on nuclear submarines during the Vietnam War and was transferred to Connecticut in 1969. Following his service in the Navy, Bob earned a teaching degree at UCONN and taught at East Hampton High. He later worked as a senior computer programmer at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Hartford. Bob was a leader of state peace organizations, including 20/20 Vision and Veterans for Peace, and an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hartford where he acted in several productions of the church theater group, the K(N)aves. For the past six years, Bob made his home at Salmon Brook Care Center in Glastonbury, Connecticut, where he remained an avid reader and creative thinker with a terrific sense of humor and great love for his family and friends. He will be missed deeply. A memorial service has been scheduled for Bob on April 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 120 Sigourney Street, Hartford, CT 06105. Memorial donations in Bob's name can be made to the K(N)aves in care of the church.
