Membership cards

Chip, Sorry for our slowness. Your check goes to the treasurer, who then collects a bunch before sending them on to me. Then I send a list to Gil, who makes up the cards and sends them back to me to mail out. We are trying to speed up this process, but it shouldn't be too much longer and I'll have t...

Please let me know, ASAP, if you would like to be on the association meeting agenda (Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2007) and what you want to discuss. I would like to get a head start on this, so that it can be posted to this site in advance of all of us traveling to Groton. Thank you, Charline Huwe,...

Passing of a Navy wife

To all of you who knew Ron and Carol Johnson, I just wanted to let you know that Carol passed away yesterday (3/21/07) at 10 AM from her battle with lung, bone and brain cancer. Those of you who knew her, knew a lovely young woman, with long, beautiful, black hair and a great smile. She will be miss...

Found 70 new names

Thanks to an e-mail from Florian Folger to Keith Holman and then to me, I looked up the 627 Crew list on the USSVI site. I have now added 70 new names to our address listing and found 19 missing addresses. Not all of the men wanted their addresses posted and left them off the USSVI site, but we now ...

Stolen Laptop

It is really great that the laptop has been found, but it shouldn't have had VA info on it in the first place. We have heard nothing about what will or has happened to the person who took this info home. At the least, he or she should be fired, but since no mention has been made of this, we will pre...

2007 Reunion

There will be another reunion in 2007, but the date hasn't been set yet. The two main committee members are Joe Maurer and Fred Huwe. They are still in the process of checking a few things out, but hope to have more info in the near future.

Picking

Keith,
Thank you for the compliment. This is just something that I feel "passionate" about. I enjoyed being a Navy wife and the friendships that were formed back then. Plus, I know you're not really picking on me.

Robert E. Thornton

Okay, you guys quite picking on me.
I've made a bunch of phone calls, but got several machines that I left messages on. One that was wrong tried to help me - was Bob a policeman after the Navy? If so, may have found him. If I don't find hime soon, I will give up.

Finding Bob

I had found one in Nashville, but he's too young. I have two in Memphis, two in Knoxville, one in Henning, one in Brownsville, one in Lawrenceburg, one in Jackson and two in towns that don't even show on the map of TN. The two with the middle initial "E" are both in Memphis. I can start ma...

Finding you

Dear Dan, Yes, that is how I found you. Joe Tomasso logged onto the site and went into the section that lists all the names we have remembered to date. He noticed that some of you weren't mentioned and asked who he could send some of the old "Sailing Lists" to, in order to add more names. ...
