The S & M song
Okay, take the children out of the room...This one is a little bit risqué...It was written by myself, Crash Collision, and several other Madison Crew Men whom I can't recall... I'm pretty sure Gene Ammons (RIP) brother was part of it too...It's in response to a sea story that MTC Smith told about a ...

40 feet of rope
This was actually the first song I ever wrote or had a hand in writing...It launched my career as a poet and song writer...It was also a song that I wrote with Clint Green a bud from Sub school that I stayed in touch with for years...Sadly I have lost touch with him...It's in a bluegrass style...We ...

Messcranking Blues
I wrote this little song after my third tour of messcranking...I think I hold the Madison record for messcooks...I did 190 days of it...Which just goes to show you that you don't take three years to decide what you want to strike for...and you don't piss the Cobb off by getting him in trouble with t...

Sleepless Nights
I guess we have all had "channel fever" or have experienced being "slept out"... Here is a poem I wrote in 1976 or 1977 I think...It's not a song...But I bet most of you can "feel my pain"... SLEEPLESS NIGHTS Dreams that haunt my rest. Fears that cloud my sight. I try t...

Battery Well Song
This is a true story song...Those who were there can relate...Those who were not might be able to relate as well...LOL...This has to be sung in a "Bob Dylan" voice...It's in his style. BATTERY WELL SONG Well early one morning...or it could have been night.. I was sitting in the library...t...

THIS TIME
This was a song I wrote with IC3 Bert Hennessey...Yeah that guy...the one who loaded the light TDU can last and it got stuck in the ball valve...Causing the garbage patrol...The lower level missile house land fill patrol...It's about him and his wife...They divorced after this patrol and re-married ...

A Part of Me
Here's one you guys might be able to relate to... A PART OF ME A sailor and a guitar, drifting out to sea. A love song for a lady, and a place he longs to be. A part of him in every word, he chose so carefully. But a poet doesn't always say, exactly what he means. Every night he plays for her, but t...

Revelation (The Submarine Song)
In 1975 after three Patrols were under my belt I sat down one night with a friend Clint Green, from the Henry L. Stimson The 655 boat, out on John's Island and we composed a song we titled Revelation after the last book in the Bible...I have been asked by many to post it here... It is copy write pro...

Re: Patrol Pin Stars
Chip is correct. I made 10 Patrols on the Madison and my DD 214 says...Authorized to wear the Pin and 2 Silver Stars... The pin don't count after your first run I reckon..

Suercavitating Torpedos
By Joe Buff In my recent “Conventional Global Strike” I promised to address soon other ways in which U.S. Navy submarine armament systems are dramatically broadening in reach and lethality. But observing the errors of fact and occasional tone nearing hysteria in some media lately, I feel compelled t...
