I have also been told that one of the storage locations during the intial brewing period was outboard of the starboard MG set in machinery 2 lower level. 6 patrols was not an uncommonly high number. I also did 6 but I remember quite a few that were aboard before me and still there after I left. Collision
This incident has been documented in Clancy's Blind Man's Bluff. A little birdie told me that it was quite an awful sound as the two ships exchanged paint. I don't have anymore details but this supposedly happened to the Blue crew. Check out the report in Clancy's book.
